RUSTY - ‘BREATH’ - 150yr old Redgum in epoxy.

This art piece table made from locally sourced Australian Redgum from yarra ranges, Victoria.

There will never be another table quite like this piece. RUSTY is a one of one, big table for dining, office, family whatever you like. Built to last. Made with love using new & old woodworking techniques for you. Expression through the physical in a piece of art you can use. Collectors piece into Australian culture and history.

This piece, named RUSTY due to its nature. This redgum slab was found in the centre of the tree. Highlighted by copper epoxy running through its top, sides & cracks throughout the trunk. We have also highlight parts of the redgum with slight gold epoxy and blackened wood with a flame.

The legs and base of the table also made in house from Australian steel as part of our own design, with a frame and supports that will discolour & weather over time adding to the look of the piece, breathing life in to it as it grows. As time goes on, and this table gets used/ damaged/ hit/ chipped/ scratch it will only look better. Its story will only get bigger as it becomes part of your story. Rusty is unbreakable and less heavy than you would think for a table this size, which we found making it amazing compared to the other slabs we have that are 60kgs heavier and smaller in length.

Perfect in its imperfection. Australian Made. 100+ Hand made hours to complete. Totally Unique. 1 of 1. Could not be reproduced. This is the only RUSTY table from Lawes Industries in the entire world.

Over 150year old Australian Redgum Iconic lumber. Grown free out in the Yarra ranges, Victoria, Australia. This is a high end product that in years will be known as an antique and will not date with the fashion, but stay iconic and relative.

Purposely built with imperfections to show the full nature of the wood/process/theme and story to make sure no one could ever reproduce this piece of artwork.

LEGS: Steel Australian made diamond bar legs to specifically made for this table. The Cross bar from the yarra ranges railway system (formally a railway sleeper) Steel legs that are meant to rust over time.

TABLE MATERIAL: Tables are reinforced with steel channels under the wood piece to prevent cupping, over time this may be unavoidable, but all due diligence has been completed to avoid this. Frames have also been added when required to bigger tables.

COLOUR PALLETE: Redgum red is the wood colour/ Copper epoxy/ blackened wood with fire/ gold epoxy.

STOCK - 1 ONLY / 1 OF 1/ original and unique. No more will be made.

TOP COATING: Table completed with TOUGH Epoxy covering to finish to make resistant and use easier. We have gone to great lengths to make this table as people proof as possible, but it is not full proof.

TABLE COATING/ MATERIAL : Australian made epoxy resin slow cure used to encapsulate this Redgum slab into immortality. Ingredients used in epoxy spec sheet/ used can be sent on request if required.

WARRANTY: 12months for workmanship. User faults not covered or included. Chips/ damages/ scratches & the like not covered under warranty. Lawes Industries be happy to restore/clean/ re-seal/ clean in future years for a reasonable cost and drop in on your investment.
